Aomori Airport Lost and Found

青森空港 · Aomori (青森県), Tohoku (東北)

Short answer

Aomori Airport’s official Lost Property page lists the Aomori Airport Information Center (7:45–20:30 JST, every day) for the terminal and posts a list of items handed in. Items left on a plane go to JAL, ANA or Fuji Dream Airlines, each with its own number and hours, and the paid car park has its own line. If you are already home, check the posted list, then call +81-17-739-2007, then contact us if you want help in Japanese.

What to prepare before you inquire

  • Where you lost it: terminal, paid car park, or a JAL, ANA or Fuji Dream Airlines aircraft
  • Date and approximate time you last had the item, so you can match it to the airport’s posted list (which shows date, item and place)
  • Airline and flight number, if you were travelling
  • Item type, colour, brand, size, distinguishing marks, and what was inside
  • Photos of the item or of an identical model, if you have them
  • An email address and phone number where you can be reached

Already left Japan?

  1. Open the airport’s Lost Property page and read the posted list of items handed in at the terminal. It shows date, item and place, and marks some older entries as already submitted to Aomori Police Station.
  2. If you see your item, or it is not listed, call the Information Center in the +81 format during 7:45–20:30 JST. For a plane, call the airline during the hours shown above.
  3. If the item is confirmed found, ask how long it will be held and what is needed to release it. The page says only that items are reported to the police after “a certain period”.
  4. Ask whether a representative may collect it and what documents are needed. The page does not say.
  5. If you want us to call in Japanese or collect the item where the facility allows it, contact us with the confirmation you received.
  6. After we receive the item, we pack it and ship it internationally. We quote available shipping methods and fees individually, and arrival dates are not guaranteed.

How Lost and Found Japan can help

  • Read the airport’s Japanese held-items list with you and call the Center or the airline in Japanese
  • Help you describe the item the way the Center asks
  • Collect the item on your behalf, only where the facility allows a representative
  • Pack the item and ship it internationally once we have it
  • We cannot search the airport ourselves and we cannot make a facility release an item. We work within what the facility allows.

Lost and Found Japan is an independent private service. We are not an official airport, airline, customs or police lost-and-found desk. Consult with us.
