Official contact information

The contacts below are listed on the linked official pages. Phone numbers are shown in international format for callers outside Japan; the number used inside Japan is in brackets. All hours are Japan Standard Time (JST).

Special-service numbers such as 0570, 0120 and 0800 are shown in their domestic format. They may not connect from overseas. Connection to any number depends on your provider.

What to prepare before you inquire

  • Whether you lost it on a plane or in the boarding lounge, in the car park or elsewhere in the building
  • Date and approximate time you last had the item
  • Airline and flight number, if you were travelling
  • Item type, colour, brand, size, distinguishing marks, and what was inside
  • Photos of the item or of an identical model, if you have them
  • An email address and phone number where you can be reached

Already left Japan?

  1. Match the place of loss to the contact above. The FAQ lists phone numbers; for ANA it also points to an online form.
  2. Call in the +81 format (drop the leading 0), within the hours shown. The terminal-building number is a 0570 number and may not connect from abroad; if it does not, ask us to call.
  3. For an ANA item outside phone hours, the FAQ points to ANA’s online inquiry form.
  4. If the item is confirmed found, ask how long it will be held and what is needed to release it. The FAQ states neither.
  5. Ask whether a representative may collect it and what documents are needed. The FAQ does not say.
  6. If you want us to call in Japanese or collect the item where the facility allows it, contact us with the confirmation you received. After we receive the item, we pack it and ship it internationally; we quote shipping methods and fees individually, and arrival dates are not guaranteed.

How Lost and Found Japan can help

  • Contact ANA, the Prefecture office or Shonai Airport Building in Japanese and relay the answers to you
  • Help you describe the item the way the desk asks
  • Collect the item on your behalf, only where the facility allows a representative
  • Pack the item and ship it internationally once we have it
  • We cannot search the airport ourselves and we cannot make a facility release an item. We work within what the facility allows.

Lost and Found Japan is an independent private service. We are not an official airport, airline, customs or police lost-and-found desk. Consult with us.
