Niigata Airport Lost and Found
新潟空港 · Niigata (新潟県), Chubu (中部)
Short answer
Niigata Airport’s official FAQ gives one contact per place of loss: the Airport Building Information Desk (025-275-2633) for the terminal building, the Airport Environment Improvement Foundation Niigata Office (025-271-9123) for the car park, and your airline for items left on the aircraft. The FAQ is available in English as well as Japanese. If you are already home, call the Information Desk first, or contact us for help calling in Japanese.

- Date and approximate time you last had the item
- Airline and flight number, if you were travelling
- Item type, colour, brand, size, distinguishing marks, and what was inside
- Photos of the item or of an identical model, if you have them
- An email address and phone number where you can be reached
Already left Japan?
- Match the place of loss to the contact above. The FAQ lists phone numbers only; no online form is listed and no hours are printed.
- Call in the +81 format (drop the leading 0). Because no hours are printed, allow for a missed call and try again at another time.
- For an item left on the aircraft, contact the airline you flew. The FAQ does not list airline lost-property numbers.
- If the item is confirmed found, ask how long it will be held and what is needed to release it. The FAQ states neither.
- Ask whether a representative may collect it and what documents are needed. The FAQ does not say.
- If you want us to call in Japanese or collect the item where the facility allows it, contact us with the confirmation you received. After we receive the item, we pack it and ship it internationally; we quote shipping methods and fees individually, and arrival dates are not guaranteed.
How Lost and Found Japan can help
- Contact the Information Desk, the Foundation’s Niigata Office or the airline in Japanese and relay the answers to you
- Help you describe the item the way the desk asks
- Collect the item on your behalf, only where the facility allows a representative
- Pack the item and ship it internationally once we have it
- We cannot search the airport ourselves and we cannot make a facility release an item. We work within what the facility allows.
Lost and Found Japan is an independent private service. We are not an official airport, airline, customs or police lost-and-found desk. Consult with us.
