Kushiro Airport Lost and Found

たんちょう釧路空港 · Hokkaido (北海道), Hokkaido (北海道)

Short answer

Kushiro Airport’s official page offers “find chat”, an online chat service, and lists a phone number for each place: the Airport Office management department for the terminal building, a car park number, and the airport police box for items lost around the airport. Items left on a plane go to the airline. If you are already home, start with find chat, then contact us if you want help in Japanese.

Official contact information

The contacts below are listed on the linked official pages. Phone numbers are shown in international format for callers outside Japan; the number used inside Japan is in brackets. All hours are Japan Standard Time (JST).

What to prepare before you inquire

  • Whether you lost it inside the building, in the car park, around the airport or on a plane
  • Date and approximate time you last had the item
  • Airline and flight number, if you were travelling
  • Item type, colour, brand, size, distinguishing marks, and what was inside
  • Photos of the item or of an identical model, if you have them
  • An email address you can receive messages at, because find chat sends its login link by email

Already left Japan?

  1. For a loss inside the airport, open find chat from the link above and follow the steps the official page lists.
  2. Alternatively, match the place of loss to the phone number above and call in the +81 format. The page prints no hours, so allow for a missed call.
  3. For an item left on a plane, use the inquiry page the official page links for your airline.
  4. If the item is confirmed found, ask how long it will be held and what is needed to release it. The official page states neither.
  5. Ask whether a representative may collect it and what documents are needed. The official page does not say.
  6. If you want us to call in Japanese or collect the item where the facility allows it, contact us with the confirmation you received. After we receive the item, we pack it and ship it internationally; we quote shipping methods and fees individually, and arrival dates are not guaranteed.

How Lost and Found Japan can help

  • Contact the Airport Office, car park or airline in Japanese and relay the answers to you
  • Help you describe the item the way the chat or the office asks
  • Collect the item on your behalf, only where the facility allows a representative
  • Pack the item and ship it internationally once we have it
  • We cannot search the airport ourselves and we cannot make a facility release an item. We work within what the facility allows.

Lost and Found Japan is an independent private service. We are not an official airport, airline, customs or police lost-and-found desk. Consult with us.
