Fukuoka Airport Lost and Found

福岡空港 · Fukuoka (福岡県), Kyushu (九州)

Short answer

Fukuoka Airport’s official page offers an online chat service called “find chat” plus phone lines run by Fukuoka International Airport Co., Ltd. (separate numbers for domestic and international flights). Items lost on the aircraft or at a check-in counter go to the airline, and items lost in the international area after security go to Fukuoka Airport Customs. If you are already home, use find chat or the +81 numbers below, then contact us if you want help in Japanese.

Official contact information

The contacts below are listed on the linked official pages. Phone numbers are shown in international format for callers outside Japan; the number used inside Japan is in brackets. All hours are Japan Standard Time (JST).

What to prepare before you inquire

  • Domestic or international terminal, and the exact place
  • Whether you had already passed security when you lost it (international area after security goes to Customs)
  • Date and approximate time
  • Airline and flight number, if you were travelling
  • Item type, colour, brand, size, distinguishing marks, and contents
  • Photos of the item or of an identical model, if you have them
  • An email address where find chat or the office can reach you

Already left Japan?

  1. Start with find chat, which is available from the English page, or phone the matching office using the +81 format (drop the leading 0, for example 092-622-8845 becomes +81-92-622-8845).
  2. Mind the hours: the domestic line is 8:00–22:30 JST, the international line is staffed 24 hours, and Customs is 7:00–22:00 JST.
  3. If the item is confirmed found, ask where it is held, how long it will be kept and how it can be released. The official page does not state a retention period.
  4. Ask whether a representative may collect it and what documents are required. The facility decides.
  5. If you want us to handle the Japanese-language steps or collect on your behalf where allowed, contact us with the confirmation you received.
  6. After we receive the item, we pack it and ship it internationally. We quote available shipping methods and fees individually, and arrival dates are not guaranteed.

How Lost and Found Japan can help

  • Contact the relevant office in Japanese and relay the answers to you
  • Help you prepare the information and documents they ask for
  • Collect the item on your behalf, only where the facility allows a representative
  • Pack the item and ship it internationally once we have it
  • We cannot search the airport ourselves and we cannot make a facility release an item.

Lost and Found Japan is an independent private service. We are not an official airport, airline, customs or police lost-and-found desk. Consult with us.
