Kagoshima Airport Lost and Found

鹿児島空港 · Kagoshima (鹿児島県), Kyushu (九州)

Short answer

Kagoshima Airport’s official FAQ sends items lost inside the terminal to the Kagoshima Airport Building Safety and Disaster Prevention Center (8:45–17:30 JST) and items left on a plane to the airline. The airport also states that it cannot deliver left-behind items overseas. If you are already home, a representative in Japan is the practical route: contact us with the confirmation you receive from the Center.

Official contact information

The contacts below are listed on the linked official pages. Phone numbers are shown in international format for callers outside Japan; the number used inside Japan is in brackets. All hours are Japan Standard Time (JST).

Special-service numbers such as 0570, 0120 and 0800 are shown in their domestic format. They may not connect from overseas. Connection to any number depends on your provider.

What to prepare before you inquire

  • Whether you lost it inside the terminal or on a plane
  • Date and approximate time you last had the item
  • Airline and flight number, if you were travelling
  • Item type, colour, brand, size, distinguishing marks, and what was inside
  • Photos of the item or of an identical model, if you have them
  • An email address and phone number where you can be reached

Already left Japan?

  1. For a terminal loss, call the Safety and Disaster Prevention Center in the +81 format during 8:45–17:30 JST. For a plane, use the airline row above. Peach, Jetstar and Korean Air are listed by link only.
  2. The airport states it cannot deliver left-behind items overseas. Plan on collection in Japan by you or a representative.
  3. If the item is confirmed found, ask how long it will be held and what is needed to release it. The official pages we read state neither.
  4. Ask whether a representative may collect it and what documents are needed. The official pages do not say.
  5. If you want us to call in Japanese or collect the item where the facility allows it, contact us with the confirmation you received.
  6. After we receive the item, we pack it and ship it internationally from our side. We quote available shipping methods and fees individually, and arrival dates are not guaranteed.

How Lost and Found Japan can help

  • Contact the Center or the airline in Japanese and relay the answers to you
  • Help you describe the item the way the Center asks
  • Collect the item on your behalf, only where the facility allows a representative
  • Pack the item and ship it internationally once we have it, since the airport itself does not ship overseas
  • We cannot search the airport ourselves and we cannot make a facility release an item. We work within what the facility allows.

Lost and Found Japan is an independent private service. We are not an official airport, airline, customs or police lost-and-found desk. Consult with us.
